International Artist-In-Residence: Morag Myerscough (UK)

Embark on a bold and optimistic conversation about Belonging.

As part of Everybody NOW’s Ten-Year Anniversary Celebrations we’re thrilled to welcome global design leader Morag Myerscough to the Gold Coast.

Morag’s striking, large-scale installations have transformed cities worldwide – from Coachella (USA), to the London and Paris Olympics, Shanghai to Cape Town.

Now she joins us, for a Queensland exclusive, launching the start of an exciting collaboration, led by Everybody NOW! and leading Queensland artists.

The collaboration kicks off with a week long Creative Residency from 17 – 23 November 2025, engaging Gold Coasters in powerful conversations, vibrant free public workshops, and robust creative exchanges.

Everybody NOW! Director Kate Baggerson said “We all need a place to belong. Whether a physical space, or a place in our hearts, ‘belonging’ brings us steady and strength in an uncertain world, and connection and calm when we feel adrift”.

We’re excited to bring our creative practice at Everybody NOW! together with Morag’s, as we make, design, write, sing and discuss our way towards a large-scale temporary art work for the future. We both make art with communities, in a way that is collaborative, playful and open to the possibilities.

Morag Myerscough explains, “When I’m working with a group of people it’s not about “consultation”, but about integration; actually working together. The ultimate thing for me is a sense of belonging, so people feel like they belong to the work, with the work and they have ownership over the work – it is theirs, they care about it and they get attached to it.”

We’re inviting you to be the first to get involved. Be the voices and ideas behind this future artistic project for the City.
