She is also a passionate Swing Dancer, Vintage Stylist and a driving force in her the family-run charity, Beauties Feeling Fabulous, who deliver year-round pamper days for women living with a cancer diagnosis.

Chrissy first joined Everybody NOW! as a performer in 2015 and we’ve since created several projects together (there’s a couple of pics from our favs below!)

In what she is calling a ‘full circle moment’ Chrissy is joining the Everybody NOW! team as Programs Manager in anticipation for our 10-year anniversary in 2025.

As you’ll read below, she describes her secret talent as a ‘Catalyst of Connection and Joy’ so we’d say she is a pretty good fit for us!

Question 1

Three things about you that we won’t find in your bio?

  • I leave red lipstick kisses on white napkins whenever I eat!
  • I have 8 grand babies and they are all human (In know right! I look too young!)
  • I am the 1st female in my maternal lineage in 90 years to survive our BRCA 11 gene default cancer!
Question 2

What is your Secret Talent?

Hmmm…. Mood Lifter and energy Bringer? Catalyst of Connection and Joy??  I try to bring the vibe of sunshine and lollipops to every occasion and turn a frown upside down!

The other thing I am pretty good at is connecting people, I love bringing people together, introducing them, starting the convo and then sneaking away to let them nurture new friendships.

Question 3

Who are your art-crushes?

I have to say Frankie Manning, My first Lindy Hop Dance Teacher in 1995 from Harlem New York who was the inventor of the first airstep in 1934.  He came out of retirement at 80 not start travelling the world to teach Lindy Hop again.  A bucket list moment was when I got to teach with him in 2003.  He danced and taught until he was 95.  After that it would be Hedy Lamar, to be that talented (she invented the WIFI tech, dissolving tablets to carbonate water to name a couple) and look that good, that gal could do it all.

Question 4

What are you most excited about in joining Everybody NOW?

Full circle moment.  I feel like I am back with family!  Getting to help facilitate making art in place and bringing joy to larger communities, being a part of a company that at its heart is about moving communities is my jam!

Question 5

The Purpose of our organisation is To Move Communities – that movement can manifest in many guises; physically, socially, emotionally, culturally. To be moved and to move together. What moves you?

Lindy Hop.  The dance, the music the community the twinkle in the eye before the smile reaches their mouth and the butterflies of joy in their tummies, I see them.. any age, any ability when music and dance frees people.  I also love my work in the transformational makeover space through Vintage Styling.  The boost of confidence it brings to all aged girls and women is a beautiful thing and I am blessed to be able to do that.
