Roller Daze

Whether it’s been decades or days, whether you do artistic or freestyle, it’s time to lace up those skates.

Roller Daze, curated by Everybody NOW!, is an all-in celebration of skating combined with a killer line-up of booming beats. From the disco-hazed nostalgia of roller rinks, to the fun world of roller dance, to the community driven revival of social skating, Roller Daze brings together an eclectic line up of workshops, music, special guest appearances and open skate sessions, hosted by the hilarious, roller-skating, lycra loving cabaret and comedy performer Rebel Lyons.

This afternoon of pure joy is complete with performances by Selve, a playful and bombastic alternative rock band, Little Quirks, a high energy folk pop band, followed by Bullhorn, an acoustic force of nature, whose high octane combination of hard hitting hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae and dance music never fails to get the audience moving.

Featuring Selve, Little Quirks and Bullhor.

Artists

Rebel Lyons

Performer, comedian and host, Rebel Lyons is the manifestation of all our favourite things.

She wears lycra like a boss, is a queen on the roller-skates, she has excellent dance moves and as you’ll read below has some pretty good life advice to follow!
Also she is QUT trained, graduating from a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) in 2019, and is clocking up the performance credits at a rapid rate despite launching her professional career just in time for a global pandemic. She’s performed at the Byron Comedy Festival, Brisbane Festival with Common People Dance Project and had a sold out five-star reviewed season at Adelaide Fringe Festival. We so lucky to have her star power (FIVE STAR power!) joining us as the producer and dazzling host of Roller Daze at Brisbane Festival.
