As part of the Roller Coaster we are looking to form a pop-up performance group of skaters, who will skate as part of the closing party with live music on Sunday 21st August at Miami Marketta.
We’re looking for roller skaters with a sound skill level and openness to explore the crossover between skating, theatre and stories of skate.
Perhaps you’re a skater, with a background in dance, hip hop, music, theatre or visual artist OR a performer, musician, artists who can also skate , OR perhaps you just LOVE to skate and would like to be a part of something different.
You may have some special tricks and skills up your sleeve, and they may come in handy but it’s not necessary to get involved. You just need to be confident on your skates, enjoy collaboration and open to sharing your story of skate.
We’ll spend 3 x 2hr sessions work shopping performance ideas with a theatre director and live musicians that celebrate stories of skate. Those ideas will be showcased at the Sunday Session event. A honorarium fee can be provided for participation.
