Tal Fitzpatrick x Roller Coaster Merch Collab

We were so excited to commission socially-engaged artist and craftivist Tal Fitzpatrick to create the design for this year’s Roller Coaster T-shirt.

We love that Tal’s work uses handmade techniques of quilting and embroidery with social and political messages and imagery for advocacy, community building and democracy.

Tal designed and hand stitched us an original artwork inspired by Roller Coaster which was then transferred into a digital format for this special merch collab.

These bright and bold rock and roll inspired tee’s come in youth ($25+ shipping) and adult sizes ($35+ shipping). There are two designs; a signature Tal Fitzpatrick ‘Roller Coaster’ title stitch and our hero, full front art design of roller skates with iconography representing themes from the show.

All profits from the tees go back into supporting community participation with free and accessible workshops and fees to support artists and skaters to co-create the future of Roller Coaster.

Tal Fitzpatrick (she/her) | ARTIST STATEMENT

As a socially-engaged artist driven by the politics of intersectional feminism I was really inspired and excited about the opportunity to come up with merch design for Everybody Now!’s production of Roller Coaster. The stories that Roller Coaster is based on and the processes of putting this show together have huge resonances with my own creative practice and I adore the fierce and unapologetic aesthetics of the roller skating and roller derby scenes! For me, this design is about celebrating resilience in the face of adversity and paying homage to the things that help get us through tough times – like music, roller skating and being in community!
